I-PHONE 5 DUAL CORE CONCEPT

i-Phone 5 design, this one based on the long time rumored edge to edge display. This time the screen feels as if it’s actually a piece of glass fit between two metal parts, because of the lack of side bezel.   The concept was created by Sira Design. This iPhone 5 concept features a dual core Apple A6 processor, a 9 megapixel iSight camera and iOS 6. iCloud is also in the mix and New Siri as well. The screen diagonal is 4 inches and we’ve got a bunch of new icons to work with. What’s interesting is that in the screen diagonal area it says “4.0 + 0.5″. Is that 0.5 actually the side screen.

ACER PHONE CONCEPT

Acer Phone Concept Created by Dan Hsu.This is an Android 4.0 smartphone, that uses the lower chin to show normal stuff on the screen, like icons and apps and the superior one to show the time. The device is very thin, maybe 7mm in thickness and it has a discretely integrated camera at the back. I can’t seem to spot the LED flash .This Acer concept is pictured in white, pink and blue. To me this looks like a 4.3 inch smartphone, that I suppose has the Nvidia Tegra 3 CPU inside and a 720p resolution (my speculations). There’s also a lower end device, with a 5 megapixel camera, shown as the last picture below. This is also an Android model, with 4 capacitive buttons and a smaller screen, maybe 4 inches.

BANG & OLUGSEN CONCEPT PHONE

Bang & Olufsen Concept Phone Serenata II Runs Android 4.0 and it is Seriously Rounded, the Serenata II concept, running Android 4.0, packing 3 capacitive buttons below the screen and a very rounded format. The device is actually a rounded piece of material and underneath that there’s a smaller plaque that probably holds the camera and some serious audio technology from B & O. I like this design very much and  it has transparent edges, that could offer some nice light effects like the new Xperia model announced at MWC. Anyway the phone seems pretty thin, so maybe it’s around 7 or 8mm thick. Add to that an 8 megapixel camera, 32GB of storage, some special music service, an ubercool equalizer and tremendous Bang & Olufsen speakers and you’ve got a hit.

SAMSUNG SMARTPHONE CONCEPT

Samsung concept smartphone, running Android 4.0 ICS and packing those trademark 3 capacitive buttons at the bottom. The device looks like a combo between the design of a new generation of Sony Xperia phone and its back is very similar to the one of the HTC One X and One S. There’s also a very interesting browser in one of the pics and if I’m not mistaking I saw the real thing on ASUS Eee Slider tablet, as the standard web browser with those touch options. This is a very thin phone, with curved upper and lower edges, a plasticky look and metallic edges,it packs a quad core processor, 12 megapixel camera and 1080p display.

Also the diagonal should be around 4.7 inches or so, keeping with the modern smartphone standards. The device is certainly interesting and it would make a good new Nexus Phone.

I-PHONE CONCEPT SLIGHTLY CURVED BACK

An iPhone concept, that promises a revolution and uses a slightly curved back. Notice the big departure from the small rounded volume buttons on the iPhone 4S to the unified volume button here. The physical Home button is still here and I can’t say that this iPhone 5 design is shocking or game changing. What’s really a nice touch and interesting detail is the fact that the Apple logo here resembles the one for the WWDC 2012 invitation, hinting at a possible launch of the new iPhone there. From what I’ve heard at WWDC 2012 we will be seeing iOS 6.0 and some new MacBooks, but no new iPhone. Anyway, this new iPhone is certainly something that Apple would do, since it doesn’t stray from past design lines and it’s still pretty classy.

NOKIA LUMIA 850 CONCEPT

The designer Brian Bovi is from Luxembourg and this time he envisioned the Nokia Lumia 850, A 3.8 inch smartphone with a high res display, curved glass, plastic body and an 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens. This model also has a stereo speaker system and the shape of the Nokia Lumia 850 is described as “edgeless” by the designer. As you can see, this phone supports LTE connectivity and I’d imagine it in the portofolio of AT&T in the USA. It’s a pretty wide device that tries to keep all the physical buttons on a single side, the right one.

I-PHONE PLUS CONCEPT

The iPhone Plus design, a branding that Apple might actually apply to the iPhone 5 by ADR Studio with the Macintosh Plus. The iPhone Plus uses a Liquidmetal body (thermoformed on a single plane, without junctions) and the screen has a double alkali-aluminosilicate sheet glass. We’re dealing here with a device that has a 4.3 inch Retina Display, the Apple A6 quad core processor, a 10 megapixel rear camera with f/2.4, 1080p video capture at 30 fps and a 2 megapixel front camera. There’s even a top pico projector, used to beam photos and videos to surfaces.
